Ricketts
Mill Bed and Breakfast Accommodation and Trout
Fishery is set in a
peaceful and tranquil wooded valley, 6 miles from the Historic
Market town of Carmarthen.
Our l8th
Century home is a stone built former millers cottage and was
extendedsome years ago. It lies in 14 Acres and is bounded
by two rivers,
the Afon Cywyn and Nant Cynnen where small native Brown & Sea
Trout will be seen.
Although
in a quiet and idyllic setting, we are in an ideal position
for visiting Countryside and Coast.
Ricketts
Mill was a flourmill until 1936. The grounds used for grazing
and growing produce for the family. Sadly due to neglect the
mill
was pulled down 12 yrs ago.
The cottage
was extended before we Ron & Sheila moved here
in 1995 but we endeavoured to uncover several nice features to
the property.
We have created
two trout lakes on part of the grazing land, which is open
to the public or guests. This in turn is attracting even further
wildlife to add to the 18 different types of birds, which have
been observed.
On a summers
evening enjoy a stroll around the land beside the two rivers
which surround us.
Enjoy a few
days fishing at Ricketts Mill where the two lakes are stocked
with Brown. Rainbow and Blue Trout 3-10lb in weight. The lakes
are
6-10ft deep.
