The first themed mediaeval banquets in Britain were held at Ruthin
Castle more than 30 years ago and the long tradition continues.
Fully costumed Ladies of the Court and Court Steward entertain,
sing, jest and lead the evening's feasting with dagger and fingers...
accompanied by mead from clay cups and wine in pewter goblets.
Guests can also wear costume if they choose and the setting has
found favour for many themed mediaeval wedding banquets and conference
groups.
The castle has a proud, centuries-old tradition of

The Bedrooms
Many of the 62 bedrooms are comfortably large and each has its
own individual personality. Most rooms enjoy views over the 30
acres of gardens, parkland and woods of the estate and towards
the surrounding Welsh mountains (at times snow-capped in Winter).
